Fifty years ago, a young Italian man left post war Europe for Australia. Franco Calabria opened a tiny barbershop in 1956 downstairs at Baileys Corner. The shop consisted of two chairs. Today the Franco of Canberra salon has a professional buzz, in a brightly lit space, and has grown to a staff of 17 and to 23 chairs, all to provide full Coiffure therapy. As the business grew so did our reputation. We are often on call to the rich and famous, International Dignitaries to Royalty and Entertainers. In order to keep abreast with fashion over the last 50 years, overseas travel and competitions have been a priority. Franco's team has won Australian hairdressing championships, national and state awards to keep in high standing with our reputation. Our profile continues to grow with our involvement with Australian fashion weeks, international presentations and industry events. One of the factors that have brought success to Franco is his ability to share information not only with the clients but hairdressers industry as well. In order to achieve this, Franco has always been very strong on training, and the Salon continues to train all staff on a weekly basis. The original Franco of Canberra philosophy continues on today with the same passion and love for what has become a lifestyle. Today, Franco continues to bring his experience to the salon, for his passion is very much a part of the man. Our pricing reflects that we have always been interested in looking after the many rather than the few. :: sam calabria |
